It's my first time at Raj!  What do I need to know?

Welcome!  Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your first class so that you can fill out our waiver and we can show you around the studio.  To save time you are welcome to register for class through Mindbody (see our full schedule here) and fill out the waiver online.  While you may bring your own mat and props, we also offer mats, blankets, bolsters, and blocks free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We have cubbies in the front of the studio that you can leave your belongings in when you take class, and bathrooms and water in the back of the studio.

Do you have any special deals for new students?

We have a new client special of 2 weeks of unlimited yoga for $22.  If you're curious about trying our variety of classes, we encourage you to take advantage of this deal.  This special is available only to new clients who have taken one or less classes at Raj.

Can I Sign Up Online?

You can sign up for classes online ahead of time through the MindBody app.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is known as "The Yoga of Awareness."  It helps to harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body by precisely and consciously combining breath, postures, and mantra to bring balance to the body, mind, and soul.  It is for all bodies, all denominations and all levels of practice.

What is Kaiut Yoga?

Kaiut Yoga approaches the body and joints with gentle awareness and focused healing pressure. The use of gravity and relaxation brings the effects of the poses deeply into the nervous, circulatory,  and lymphatic system. For all bodies and levels of practice.

What to Wear/Bring to Studio

Wear clothes that you feel most comfortable moving in. We provide mats, blankets, blocks, and bolsters free of charge. You are welcome to bring your own as well.

Chemical Sensitivities

Please refrain from wearing heavy or strong perfumes to class, as this can cause irritation to students who may be sensitive to smells.

Studio Etiquette

Before class - Please leave your shoes and any belongings in the cubbies at the front of the boutique (there is someone always at the front desk if the main door is unlocked).  Please leave your phone on silent or turned off.

After class - Place your mat and any props you may have borrowed in the back.  Feel free to browse the boutique for books, crystals, malas, or gifts for yourself or your loved ones.

Checking in

Please check in at the front desk before each class, even if you've signed up online - give your name, and sign our studio wavier if you haven’t already filled it out online.

Can I bring my kids to class?

Kids are welcome in our studio!  We do require children under 18 to be accompanied by an adult, and they will need a waiver filled out by their legal guardian.  We have special, discounted rates for children that can be purchased at the front desk.

Can I bring food and water into class?

We encourage you to bring water to class, but we ask that you leave all food in the boutique area and not bring it into the studio.  We have Shine Potions and bottled water available for purchase.

What is your policy on practicing after consuming marijuana or alcohol?

For your safety and for the wellbeing of others in the class, we ask that you refrain from taking class if you have consumed marijuana or alcohol prior to your practice.

I've noticed other students wearing turbans and all-white clothing to Kundalini class?  Should I wear that too?

You should wear whatever you feel most comfortable in!  We don't have any specific dress code at Raj, although we do ask all students to leave their shoes in the cubbies out front.  We encourage students to leave their socks off for a more grounding experience.  Many Kundalini yoga practitioners chose to wear white to strengthen their auric projection, and cover their heads to contain their energy and strengthen their meditation practice: this is not required to either take a Kundalini Yoga class or to benefit from the practice.

I see you have a membership and class pack options, as well as a drop-in rate.  Which one should I sign up for?

We offer a variety of payment options so that you can sign up for the one that's going to fit best into your schedule.  If you are coming to class at least twice a week, our $108 monthly membership is the best deal.  If you are coming to class once a week or less, a class pack or drop-in is the most economical for you.  If you are still unsure, feel free to stop by the front desk or call us at (720) 287-3361 and we can help you figure out the best option!
